Coaching Philosophy
Every good athlete has a coach. The coach provides the athlete and the rest of the team with instruction in how to excel at their sport. The coach focuses on the fundamentals of the sport and also directs team strategy. One goal of Conflict Resources International is to provide quality training, instruction and materials to assist leaders in churches, organizations and businesses in the area of conflict management and resolution.
Consulting Services
The coaching method used by Conflict Resources International involves the use of the Thomas- Kilmann Conflict Mode Instrument (TKI). This instrument is the best instrument for understanding conflict resolution. This tool provides a catalyst to open discussion about how conflict impacts personal and group dynamics. Churches and organizations need tools to improve conflict management and resolution. The Thomas-Kilmann Conflict Mode Instrument provides information regarding the five major conflict management styles: Avoiding; Competing; Compromising; Collaborating; and Accommodating. As CRI provides coaching in the area of conflict, direction is given primarily to assist in expanding a set of conflict management skills to help individuals choose the most effective behaviors for a particular leadership situation.
The TKI can be presented in a private or group setting. It can also be presented in three different workshop formats: a two-hour, four-hour, and full-day format. The key is finding the best format that will fit the specific needs of your church or group.
Coaching Follow-up
Follow-up is crucial to sustain movement in improving conflict management skills. After the immediate coaching sessions, follow-up coaching may take the form of phone calls or additional meetings to increase understanding in conflict management. This support is a necessary component in assisting church, business, and organizational leaders in further development in the areas covered in coaching sessions.
